Founded in 2007 by John Walden who has 25 years experience in conservation, most notably the development of BlackLand Lakes in Wiltshire.

The site of BlackLand Lakes attracts large numbers of wildlife all year round including Ducks, Geese Kingfishers (nesting on the side of a lake and fishing with the fishermen!), Herons, Tree creepers, Woodpeckers etc. Water voles, which have become quite rare are normally in residence One of the 3 lakes is stocked with some wildfowl although the majority are wild and free flying. Fishing is very popular and includes carp in excess of 30 lbs, good size tench, bream, perch, roach etc. Prior to this development there was very little wildlife in the area whereas now, ducks in particular are to be found over quite a widespread area.

Some years ago after and during a very wet spell much of the 15 acres was subject to flooding. Flood prevention measures were put in place and no flooding has occurred since.
